A global childbirth education company that offers classes for parents and trainings for perinatal professionals had launched an online course previously and it needed an upgrade.
A phased approach was used in this project. A thorough data, course, and needs analysis review was performed with a report for recommendations to move forward. The new course architecture was agreed upon, videos trimmed and edited for length, copy rewritten for accessibility, graphics created to complement the new design, and learner engagement activities designed to for better retention.
It was discovered through initial analysis that the client would be migrating to a new learning platform in the future. It was initially proposed to use the tools within the current platform to update the course. In order to be more mobile-responsive without the use of a mobile app, Tara recommended moving course development to SCORM files in Articulate Rise. This also saved the client future expenses by being able to quickly migrate SCORM files to a new platform when it is ready versus recreating a whole new course.
The course is currently in final development and will be available later in 2025. Courses will also be translated into at least 4 additional languages with more planned for the future. More information will be available once it is launched to the public.
